Thank you for your support during the 2021 Give Where You Live campaign!
Collier Senior Resources at the Golden Gate Senior Center has 1,460 diverse members who are primarily female, largely Spanish-speaking and often, live in poverty.
On June 29, 2020, we became the only senior center in Collier County (and one of a few in the State) to open its doors to provide in-person, daily hot lunches to hungry seniors while complying with COVID-19 guidelines.
Since many of our seniors lack internet access and computers or smartphones, we have incurred additional expenses to ensure that we can reach them remotely for a variety of virtual programs, such as Zumba, Yoga, support groups, UPSLIDE mental health counseling, and other services.
We are open and serving a daily hot lunch, monthly bingo sessions and other in-person activities that provide much-needed opportunities for seniors to get together and enjoy the company of friends–all at no charge to the senior.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, our November appeal was a HUGE success raising more than $200,000 to help us serve less fortunate seniors in our community!
