Collier Senior Resource/Golden Gate Senior Center

Find Balance at Your Center!
National Senior Center Month, September, is designed to raise awareness about the need for and importance of engaging opportunities for seniors.
Currently the fastest growing segment of the population (some 10,000 individuals turn 65 each day), too many seniors are at-risk for depression, declining physical and mental health and death due to isolation.
Collier Senior Resources (CSR) addresses these concerns through a wide-array of free programs, services and activities focused on friendship, learning, fitness and purpose.
CSR at its Golden Gate Senior Center offers seniors on a modest/fixed-income fellowship, enrichment and wellness services ranging from a daily hot lunch and coffee bar; weekly food pantry, blood pressure, vision and diabetes screenings, oral health assessments, balance testing and fall prevention lectures; to birthday and holiday parties, dance and exercise, art therapy, games, Alzheimer’s support, crafts and other life-enhancing activities.
Collaborations with trusted partners including AARP Foundation, Meals of Hope, Alzheimer’s Support Network, Area Agency on Aging, Catholic Charities, Collier Area Transport, Collier County Nutrition, Lion’s Club, Literacy Volunteers and the Sheriff’s Office allow us to educate, advocate and provide life-transforming referrals for seniors in-need and caregivers.
The GG Senior Center opened two years ago; we help seniors and their loved-ones find answers and resources to make life easier and more enjoyable.
Today, I invite you to visit the Golden Gate Senior Center (open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, at 4898 Coronado Parkway) and discover how you can Find Balance at Your Center!
